Five Things to Clean When You’re Sick

Uh oh, here comes the sore throat, and then the dreaded cough. Sadly, at least once a year, most of us get sick. However, how can you make sure that you don’t spread it around to the rest of your family? Here are five important things you can do:

1. Wash your hands! You want to do this with warm water, at least for 30 seconds.

2. Bathroom: Wipe down all handles and fixtures in the bathroom (sink handles, toilets, etc.

Electronics: Wipe down all remotes, video game controllers and game systems with an alcohol wipe or a mild disinfectant.

4.Living Rooms and Other Areas: Wipe down all door handles and light switches and any areas that may have been contaminated by dirty tissues.

5.Bedding and Blankets: While sick replace pillow cases once a day and wash all bedding, blankets, comforters, etc. when the sickness has passed.sick

If you do these things, hopefully this will stop the sniffles from spreading to everyone! Also, if you have kids, don’t forget to wipe down all toys and if it is a stuffed animal, see if you can wash it with a soft rinse cycle in the washing machine.
